Blog - From the Pastor's Pen

  • "That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world." Eph. 2:12.

One of the saddest verses in the Bible is found in the book of the Revelation. It is dealing with the judgment of the unsaved dead. It reads, "And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heavens fled away; and there was found no place for them." Rev. 20:11

The last phrase, "and there was found no place for them," ought to shock the saved man into great concern for the lost. This passage declares that God had made no arrangements for those who reject him in a place for them to spend eternity. Hell was made for the devil and his angels (Matt. 25:41) and heaven for the believers, so there was no place for those humankind who have rejected the Lord Jesus Christ. God had no choice but to cast them into the hell that was prepared for the devil and his angels.

The shocking thing here is that for the most part the saved do not seem to realize and understand that this is our friends, family and loved ones. It could be our children or their children. It could be our husband or wife or our dearest friend. It will make no difference in eternity. They who reject Christ and the shed blood of the cross of Calvary will be cast into a devil's hell for all eternity. The Word of God declares that there is no hope for the lost apart from Christ Jesus. They are "afar off." They are aliens from the commonwealth. Strangers from the covenants of promise and without God in this world. These are Biblical facts and not just so called preaching to scare the lost into being saved. These Biblical facts ought to break the heart of the believer to the point of crying out unto God for the souls of men.

Thank God we are not left helpless or hopeless. God has made provision for lost man to be saved and not have to spend eternity in the pits of hell.

"But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were afar off are made nigh by the blood of Christ." Eph. 2:13 Somebody must tell them and God has given that privilege unto the believer. There is hope. God has not abandoned His people and the blood has not lost its power.
